Steelers WR Santonio Holmes charged with drug possesion

Some very disturbing news this morning as Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana. In June 2006, Holmes was arrested in Ohio in june of 2006 on a domestic violence charge, which was later dismissed. Holmes was also arrested in South Beach, Florida., for disorderly conduct during a Memorial Day weekend crackdown in 2006. Holmes was pulled over on a traffic stop because his vehicle matched the description given in a tip that said a dark-colored large SUV was carrying a large amount of drugs. Police Sergeant R. Griffith said that Holmes\’s vehicle was not the one that they were looking for. “When they pulled him over, they found there was a smell of burnt marijuana in the vehicle,” said Sgt. James Vogel of the Pittsburgh Police Department. “Mr. Holmes was very cooperative with officers and turned over some items to us and was subsequently summoned for those items. A couple of marijuana blunts.”
