Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Colts Post Game Press Conference

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said in his post game press conference that it is a fine line between winning and losing, he said the Colts made the plays and the Steelers did not. Colts came up with 3 turnovers, while the Steelers came away with none. Tomlin described quarterback Ben Roethlisberger\’s play as “not up to snuff”, because the Steelers lost it is the only way he can describe it when you lose.

Tomlin said that cornerback Deshea Townsend injured his hamstring and will be re-evaluated Monday. Tomlin did not give much of an update on running back Willie Parker (shoulder) and linebacker LaMarr Woodley (calf) other then to say he is hopeful both will be back next Sunday.

Tomlin said the offensive game plan was to take what the Colts gave underneath under their umbrella type defense. Tomlin stood behind his decision to kick the field goal late in the game to take a 3 point lead. He did not want to come way with a bad taste and no points.

Tomlin said there was defensive miscommunication on the Colts final touchdown to running back Dominic Rhodes.

Tomlin ended by saying he is not concerned about Roethlisberger\’s confidence.

This loss is solely on BIG BEN’s shoulders, or shall I say right shoulder? Steeler nation is sick & tired of hearing about it. Take a week or two off Ben,,, Please! We have the best “D”, we have the running game, we have the special teams! We even have a veteran back up quarterback (one who knows the Colt’s defense well). Now all we need is you HEALTHY to lead & win when it matters! Leave your pride at the doorstep, your 108 mill dollar contract will be better served resting on the bench for 2-3 weeks! Have a seat with Willie Parker son!
