Steelers head coach was in a no win situation when it came to the decision on whether or not to play the starters against the Cleveland Browns. Steeler Nation is the worse when it comes to armchair coaching. If the offense had been clicking on all cylinders in the past few weeks leading up to the Browns game, it would indeed made more sense to rest everyone. In light of how the offense and more particular the running game has been performing, they needed to get some work and confidence. Had Tomlin rested them and the offense were to come out flat in the first playoff game, Steeler Nation would Read more [...]

Browns owner Randy Lerner met with the media this morning to announce that Romeo Crennel has been fired as head coach. Crennel was fired after going 24-40 in his four seasons with the Browns as head coach. He had three years left on his contract, which had previously been extended in January after he coached the Browns to a 10-6 record and just missed the playoffs in 2007. Lerner also said that former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher told him he was not interested in coaching the Browns. Cowher told Lerner that he was happy with his lifestyle in North Carolina at this present time. Lerner Read more [...]

Audio from Steeler HC Mike Tomlin Post Game Press Conference Following The Browns Game.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin held his post game press conference following the 31-0 win against the Cleveland Browns. Tomlin said the test on starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger were negative and the injury is being termed a concussion and at this point not serious. Tomlin said it is way too early to say if Roethlisberger will be able to be ready for the first round playoff game in two weeks. Tomlin said backup Byron Leftwich is a very capable backup, should the Steelers need him. Tomlin said he was happy with the running game and said the offense did shoot themselves in the foot several Read more [...]
The Pittsburgh Steelers continued their dominance over the AFC North this year with a 31-0 shutout of the visiting Cleveland Browns. The Steeler defense once again ruled the day, forcing 2 turnovers and returning one for a score. The Steeler offense was still inconsistent as whole, but did move the ball better especially on the ground. The Steelers thoughts now move to Ben Roethlisberger, who was knocked out before halftime with a concussion. Roethlisberger will have 2 weeks to get ready for the first playoff game. Hines Ward led all receivers with 6 catches for 70 yards and Willie Parker led all Read more [...]
Steelers starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured in the second quarter of Sunday's game versus the Cleveland Browns. Roethlisberger had his head and neck immobilized and was carted off in a flat board. Roethlisberger was able to talk and move his arms and legs. The injury was termed as a concussion and Roethlisberger was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns in a meaningless game to close out the 2008 regular season. For the Browns, it is their version of the Super Bowl and in all likelihood will be the final game for head coach Romeo Crennel, who is rumored to be fired next week. For the Steelers it is a dress rehearsal for the playoffs. The Steelers will certainly play the starters on a limited basis and will look to get their running game some work in the process. The Browns are down to their fourth quarterback in the form of Bruce Gradkowski and will look to also mix in utility player Joshua Read more [...]

Bill DiFabio, a sports announcer from Washington, Pa., did what very few are able to do on Tuesday, disgrace Steeler Nation. DiFabio interrupted the Mike Tomlin Tuesday press conference dressed as Santa Claus and stumbled through a very unrehearsed skit for more than seven minutes. The episode garnered national media attention and made the Steelers the laughing stock of the league on what is normally a slow news day around the NFL. All of this coming just two days after a very deflating loss to the Tennessee Titans in which the Terrible Towel was disgraced as well by several Titans players. DiFabio's Read more [...]
