Steeler Training Camp Day 3 – Grisham Impresses, Foster Injured

Afternoon:

Day three of Steelers training camp was a short as thunder storms and rain interrupted the afternoon session. Wide receiver Hines Ward was working on the field in in shorts and shirt and was clearly given the day off. reserve receiver Dallas Baker was working in his place with the first unit, but I would not read too much into that. Undrafted rookie receiver Tyler Grisham continued to impress by making two acrobatic catches. Rookie offensive lineman Kraig Urbik appeared to have a better day during line drills while Tony Hills continued to struggle. Joe Burnett, Mewelde Moore, and Shaun McDonald all took reps as punt returners.

Injury wise, linebacker Lawrence Timmons continued to have cramping problems and safety Troy Polamalu tweaked his hamstring again according to reports. Bruce Davis filled in for Timmons. Undrafted free agent lineman, Ramon Foster appeared to injure his ankle as well. Rookie defensive end Sonny Harris strained his groin. Neither injury is believed to be serious. Tight end Heath Miller and running back Stefan Logan remain sidelined as well.

More later.
