Steeler Training Camp Day 4 – Timmons Practices

Morning:

Steelers free agent running back Stefan Logan was activated from the PUP list to begin his first team work in training camp. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons returned to practice this morning after being slowed the last few days with cramping issues. Wide receiver Hines Ward and linebacker James Farrior, were given the morning session off. Darnell Stapleton was getting some rest from swelling in one his knees so Doug Legursky was taking first team reps at the center position.

Afternoon:

Rookie cornerback Keenan Lewis is starting to look as advertised. Seems to be settling into camp and knocking off the jitters. The other rookie corner, Joe Burnett is still struggling a bit and very inconsistent. Free agent wide receiver Brandon Williams made a few catches in passing drills, but is still out classed by fellow receiver Limas Sweed who had a good afternoon session. Rookie Mike Wallace showed of his speed and hands in traffic this afternoon. Backup Charlie Batch seemed to break out of his early camp funk as well. Hines Ward and James Farrior remain resting. Ward was busy working with rookie wide receiver Mike Wallace in drills. Rookie defensive lineman RaShon Harris and Darnell Stapleton both sat out as well. Stapleton has knee swelling and will have his knee examined more by the doctors and Harris has a groin problem.
