Bears Limp Into Week 2 Game Versus Steelers

While the overall time frame on the total amount of games that safety Troy Polamalu will miss for Steelers, the one thing we know for sure is that he will miss the week 2 game on Sunday versus the Chicago Bears. The Bears too will have major injury concerns as well after their Sunday night game versus the Green Bay Packers. Starting middle linebacker Brian Urlacher, will reportedly undergo surgery for his dislocated right wrist on Monday and all signs point to him being out several weeks. In addition to Urlacher, strong-side linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa suffered a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will likely miss the Sunday game as well. Urlacher and Tinoisamoa represent two main cogs of the Bears linebacking unit that suffered immensely against the Packers when both were out of the game. Veteran Hunter Hillenmeyer replaced Urlacher at middle linebacker while Nick Roach replaced Tinoisamoa at strong-side linebacker.

Also injured on Sunday night for the Bears were, tight end Desmond Clark, left guard Frank Omiyale and cornerback Trumaine McBride. The extent of those injuries will not likely be known until further along in the week. Bears head coach Lovie Smith will hold his weekly press conference on Monday afternoon and might shed a little light on them.

Updated: Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher is expected to be out for the season with his wrist injury while strong-side linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa is day to day with knee sprain.
