Likely Inactive Players For Sunday Versus The Bears

As Sunday steadily approaches and Wednesday and Thursday practices have been completed, you can read the tea leaves to get a good idea on who might be inactive for the Steelers in week 2 versus the Bears. Lawrence Timmons is still likely a week away from returning and the play thus far by Keyaron Fox eases the notion of trying to rush Timmons back. Limas Sweed sprained his foot in the team portion of practice on Wednesday and failed to work on Thursday as well. This may be a good thing as Shaun McDonald will now be active and can exploit the soft zone in the Bears linebacking core that will be without two regulars. McDonald could actually make a strong contribution if active Sunday. Keenan Lewis is battling a sore hammy so reportedly Joe Burnett will dress to help as gunner on special teams. Dennis Dixon, Nick Eason, Kraig Urbik, Tony Hills and Troy Polamalu will be inactive list regulars for a while. Remember the official game inactives will not be announced until 90 minutes before kick-off. Check back here Sunday for the official list at that time.

LB Lawrence Timmons (still likely a week away)
S Troy Polamalu (if you have a rosary, use it)
WR Limas Sweed (foot sprain may linger)
QB Dennis Dixon (3rd QB)
G Kraig Urbik (no news on him is bad news)
T Tony Hills (Mr. Inactive)
CB Keenan Lewis (hammy can\’t gun)
DE Nick Eason (no room at the end)
