Steelers place kicker Jeff Reed has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week by the NFL for week 1. Reed kicked the game winner in overtime to beat the Titans and added a 32-yard field goal with three minutes remaining in the game.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun Times, suggest you could see 80 pass attempts combined on Sunday in the game versus the Bears. Biggs also breaks down a few things the Bears will need to improve upon in order to win.

Bears running back Matt Forte, defensive end Adewale Ogunleye and tight end Desmond Clark all have concerns about the playing surface at Soldier Field for this Sunday as well, grounds crews have been working on re-sodding the entire grass field for Sunday. The Bears traditionally re-sod the field after the preseason and before the home opener.

The Sports Exchange wonders if indeed the Steelers offensive line is having confusion against 4-3 defenses. The Steelers play yet another 4-3 in the form of the Bears this week although two starting linebackers will be out.

Scott Brown has an article on veteran receiver Hines Ward and his mentoring of rookie Mike Wallace. Also Ward only needs 117 yards receiving to reach 10,000 for his career.

The defending champion Pens were back on the ice on Tuesday night and beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4 in overtime. The highlight was watching defenseman Deryk Engelland drop Doug Lynch of the Blue Jackets with a series of rights during the first period. Welcome back Pens!
