Steelers Six From Around The Web – Wednesday September 2nd

Wide receiver Santonio Holmes (back), running back Willie Parker (hamstring), linebacker Lawrence Timmons (ankle) and tight end Sean McHugh will not play in Carolina on Thursday because of injuries. Fullback Frank Summers (hamstring) practiced on Tuesday and is on schedule to play.

Nose tackle Casey Hampton has given his thoughts on his final year under contracy and the idiotic rumors that he was going to be released and is on the bubble. Big Snack understands it is a business and says his contract situation won\’t become a distraction or a problem for the Steelers.

John Harris reports on a few special teams players that are on the bubble of making the final 53 man roster.

NFL.com writers have posted their predictions for the Steelers 2009 season. Bucky Brooks needs to be given a drug test by the league as he has the Steelers finishing third in the division with a 7-9 record.

Steelers Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw turns 61 today. Happy birthday Terry, from all of Steeler Nation.

Former Steeler and current Titans wide receiver Nate Washington is making strides with his hamstring injury, but remains iffy to be ready for the opening game versus Pittsburgh. I for one hope he plays as I do not want to hear all the crying from the Titans fans who would blame the loss on not having Washington available. The Steelers remain 5 point favorites despite the chance Washington might not play.
