Running back Rashard Mendenhall has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance Sunday night versus the Chargers. Let\’s hope this is the first of many more to come.

The Steelers came in second, up from 4th last year, in the America’s Favorite Football Team poll run by Harris Interactive. The Cowgirls were #1. Perhaps they slipped since the embarrassing loss on Sunday to the Broncos.

ESPN.com AFC North Blogger James Walker has a great piece on rookie wide receiver Mike Wallace. Wallace said there was never a strong indication Pittsburgh would draft him.
