Two quick keys I would like to point out in the very disappointing loss. Offensively for us I understand that that the Cincy front four, and the cornerbacks played a wonderful game! We knew this would be the case going into this game. To offset this, I loved the first two offensive plays we called this game. A quick out to the speedy Holmes, followed by a quick screen to Ward. A perfect way to slow a fast pass rush from your opponent, while forcing the corners to beat you in an open field concept. So what happened? I don’t believe I saw Holmes get a quick out again in the whole game! I never saw another wideout screen, not to mention a screen to our running backs? 40 pass attempts with no screens? Moore, Mendenhall, Parker? Nope! Just leave Big Ben out to dry in the pocket! The second issue I would like to point out, which relates to what I just spoke about. Everyone wants to point to the kick return as the 6 point difference in this game. How about this instead, First offensive series after the half gave up a quick pick 3! The next offensive series is a quick three and out, an average punt giving Cincy the ball at mid field. 2 minutes later, another field goal! There is your 6 point difference! Great game STEELERS D!!! Sorry our offense couldn’t get the job done today. Perhaps BIG Ben is a better Offensive Cordinater? We would have loved to see the hurry up when he calls the plays! Especially in the RED ZONE! Four trips, four field goals? SAD!
