Rashard Mendenhall\’s 5.7 yards per carry is second in the NFL only to league-leader Chris Johnson (6.7) among those who have at least 20 carries. His seven runs for 20 yards or more are tied for third in the NFL. Ed Bouchette has a good article on how he responds to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Lost in the news yesterday afternoon was the great news that linebacker Lawrence Timmons practiced and could be a go on Sunday. Today will be a key day to see how his ankle responds to going full speed on Wednesday. We will have the practice report around 4 pm eastern.

Mean Joe Greene will finally accept his Clio award for his work in the famous Coca-Cola commercial that aired 30 years ago this fall. Greene won the award in 1979 but wasn’t available to accept the award at the time, and never received the hardware over the years. Coca-Cola recently secured the trophy and is presenting it to Greene in the special pre-game ceremony with Tommy Okon, the boy in the commercial who famously offered Joe his Coke. As part of the event, Greene and Okon will reunite for the first time in years at Heinz Field on Sunday. Below uis the original commercial.
