Steelers Sign CFL Linebacker Derrick Doggett To Futures Contract

Winnipeg Blue Bombers special teams demon and backup linebacker Derrick Doggett signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers after working out for them on Tuesday. CFL players going into their option year are eligible to sign with NFL squads until Feb. 15. Doggett, who played his college football for at Oregon State and joined the Bombers in late July and made an immediate impact on special teams. Doggett had 27 special teams tackles in 15 games. He also had nine tackles, one interception and one forced fumble on defense.

    Just watched a fumble recovery and return for 33 yards on youtube, He looked good but he needs to cut out the showboating and holding that ball away from his body. Remember Anthony Smith showboating after an INT? He got chewed out,then he talk crap vs the Pats and got blown away and was not brought back.
