Steelers Six From Around The Web – Wednesday March 24th
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger does not need to provide a DNA sample to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation because there is no DNA to compare it to. Before you start jumping to conclusions, this really means absolutely nothing at this point. It just means that the DNA is not needed for the investigation.
Mike Tomlin cited the age of linebacker James Farrior as a reason the team went out and brought back linebacker Larry Foote. He also stated the move provides flexibility with Lawrence Timmons as well. Look for Foote to be involved in taking on more blockers this year on running downs.
The Steelers are 14-14-2 all-time in overtime games since it's inception and was one of the teams that voted in favor of the new playoff overtime format that was approved at the NFL meetings on Tuesday. I for one do not like the rule change, but at least it is for the playoffs only right now.
Steelers 2009 first round draft choice, Ziggy Hood will make his first-ever appearance at Blair County Ballpark for the Altoona Curve's opening night of baseball to meet with fans and sign autographs for two hours.
NFL.com, Senior Analyst, Pat Kirwan released his new mock draft on Tuesday and still has the Steelers drafting Kyle Wilson of Boise State. The biggest thing that sticks out in this mock is the drop safety Earl Thomas from Texas took. All the way from #10 to #27.
John Clayton has five things being heard at the owners meetings other than the Ben Roethlisberger story.
