Steelers Six From Around The Web – Wednesday March 31st

As reported yesterday afternoon, Orlando police Sgt. Barbara Jones said Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes will not be charged in connection with a March 7 altercation at the Rain Ultra Lounge in Orlando. The case has been closed since Anshonae Mills declined to press charges after talking with a police officer. Sounds like a settlement was made, but at this point I am happy no criminal charges are being brought. We shall see how this plays out going forward.

The owners and management of the Rain Ultra Lounge in Orlando have issued a statement regarding the incident that allegedly involved Santonio Holmes. Seems more like a chance to get some advertisement out. Much to do about nothing. Move along.

The Steelers had two more pre draft visitors on Tuesday as Tennessee guard Jacques McClendon and Indiana tackle Rodger Saffold were at the South Side facility. Thus far the Steelers have entertained 6 prospects.

Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis told the The Quad-City Times that he believes quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is innocent of the sexual assualt charges. Bettis was at Trinity Medical Center in Moline, Iowa on Tuesday to promote a program to provide pharmaceutical assistance to Americans in need.

Ed Bouchette\’s weekly Steelers chat transcript is up on the PPG website. Ed thinks that the Steelers will be in no rush to negotiate a contract extension for Santonio Holmes right now. He also reveals that linebacker James Farrior is absent from the current OTA. This could mean he is still recovering from offseason surgery.

Steelers.com has a new video up with an interview with wide receiver Mike Wallace as he shows up for the OTA. Wallace is looking to put on more weight and looks to learn the other wide receiver positions. He also talks about how important the blocking is with the receivers. Video is below:
