Steelers Six From Around The Web – Monday April 12th

Commissioner Roger Goodell has plans to meet this week with Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Goodell is awaiting today\’s news conference in Georgia set for 2 p.m. ET before proceeding with his planned meeting.

Really the trade of Santonio Holmes to the Jets last night was not surprising, what would be surpising is if Jets running back Leon Washington was part of the deal. Washington has yet to sign his tender offer from the Jets yet, so that is what makes this sketchy right now.

What several Steelers fans are missing in all this is that Santonio Holmes will indeed be suspended for 4 gamesin 2010 according to Adam Schefter. He was damaged goods and the Steelers did good to get a 5th round pick.

The Steelers will bring in wide receiver Antonio Brownof Central Michigan for a pre draft visit today. He is the only one scheduled for Monday and the Steelers have visited with 29 of 30 allowed players.

The Steelers 2010 schedule dates could be released by the NFL today. We already know who the Steelers will be playing home and away, just not the order or dates.

Old man quarterback Charlie Batch told his draft day memories in the latest segment of the series leading up to the draft. The video is here.

If that’s the best they can do to get rid of homes then why wouldn’t you just trade him and some draft picks for maybe a 2nd or 3rd. What are we going to do with a 5th round pick. Nothing!!!! They just traded him way to early

I am not in favor of a suspension for Ben- because that hurts the whole team and I think his stupidity has done enough to hurt the team and the Steelers reputation. I do think he needs to get his head straightened out- maybe he should have double workouts- 10 times the charity work- working in a shelter for women of domestic abuse would be a good start- and a hit to his bank accound wiht a huge fine might speak to him if working with women doesn’t. And putting some serious curtailment to his activity if he wants to stay a Steeler is a must. He owes bigtime- the fans, the team, the Rooneys- What a huge disappointment he is at this point. Maybe he has nothing to play for anymore- with two trophies. If that is the case he needs to exit the field and let someone who wants to play play.
