As expected, Steelers wide receiver Limas Sweed had surgery on Monday to repair his Achilles tendon. The injury happened to Sweed during the Steelers final minicamp practice on Sunday. The Steelers practiced Sunday in their indoor facility. The team has confirmed the Sweed surgery but did not release information on a timetable or even if Sweed would return this year at all. It is speculated that Sweed will be placed on injured reserve thus ending his season.
