On the way to the locker-room following the game, cornerback Keenan Lewis punched a sign that was encased in glass, shattering the glass in the process. This of course drew more ire from head coach Mike Tomlin.

Rookie wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders twice failed to come back to the ball on sideline routes and ran the wrong route that resulted in the Charlie Batch interception returned for a touchdown by cornerback Syd-Quan Thompson late in the game.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger reportedly is expected to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after the team's final preseason game on Thursday to see if his suspension will be reduced from six games to four. Roethlisberger said he has heard of no such meeting being set as of yet.
