Video Of Rashard Mendenhall Touchdown Run Versus Falcons Break Down

This is the best blocked play all day and the game winner as Rashard Mendenhall runs off right tackle for 50 yards in overtime for the game winning walk off touchdown to beat the Atlanta Falcons 15-9. It was said after the game that this play almost broke a few times earlier in the game. You can see the video replay here and we have screen shots below.

Start of play as Hines Ward finishes motioning to this side. David Johnson lined up at fullback and Heath Miller the tight end next to left tackle Flozell Adams.

Hines Ward locked up on safety Thomas DeCoud, Heath Miller on Kroy Biermann and David Johnson leads to the hole headed for outside linebacker Mike Peterson. Trai Essex also has his man turned in the background.

Mendenhall emerging in the hole as Hines Ward and Heath Miller fully engaged. David Johnson reaches the linebacker and is about to get a two for one special as he will knock out cornerback Brent Grimes as well creeping up. If you look deep way to the right you see Flozell Adams on his second man and rookie center Maurkice Pouncey engaged as well.

All Rashard has to do is decide to cut it inside or outside. Look at all that blocking. A thing of beauty.

Here is the reverse view of the previous picture. You can't see it, but David Johnson is pushing the linebacker into the cornerback. The rest is history as all Rashard has to do is beat safety Erik Coleman to the endzone. 2 points for Essex for the pancake take down
