Aaron Smith Will Not Be Placed On IR, Tomlin Will Wait Out Injury After Surgery

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that left defensive end Aaron Smith had surgery on Monday to repair a partially torn triceps muscle but will not be placed on season ending injured reserve. Tomlin said he will be sidelined for an extended period but that the team will wait it out and are hopeful that Smith can return at some-point this season.
