Steelers Saints Week 8 Wednesday Practice Injury Report

The Steelers officially began practice on Wednesday for the week 8 game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night down in the Big Easy. The injured player list begins with DE Aaron Smith (triceps) who will be out several weeks following surgery on Monday to repair a partially torn triceps muscle. Smith will not be placed on injured reserve for now as the team hopes to wait out his rehab. DE Brett Keisel (hamstring) and LB LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) both did not practice on Wednesday and both are not moving around too good according to reports. Keisel injured his hamstring against the Browns in week 6, while Woodley was injured in the 1st half this past Sunday against Miami. Also T Flozell Adams (ankle) sat out the Wednesday team portion as well. On an up note, G Trai Essex was not listed on Wednesday and appears to be recovered from his week 2 ankle sprain.

For the Saints on Wednesday,RB Reggie Bush (fibula), CB Jabari Greer, (shoulder), CB Tracy Porter (knee), C Jonathan Goodwin and RB Pierre Thomas (ankle) did not practice. Bush had said he was going to test the leg this week and hasn’t played since the 49ers game in week 2. Thomas has been out since the Falcons game in week 3. LB Scott Shanle (hamstring) was also limited on Wednesday.
