The Steelers allowed 4 sacks Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals and we have the breakdowns of all of them below in animated gif form. On the first sack the Bengals rush 5 and blitz a linebacker and safety. Jonathan Scott starts well with Geno Atkins put allows Atkins to get his hands up in his body and is driven back into the pocket. Maurkice Pouncey sees the overload to his right and looks to lend a hand there before realizing safety Chinedum Ndukwe coming on the right edge. Pouncey tries to get there, but is a tad late. Chris Kemoeatu lets Dhani Jones come clean and looks as if he might have been confused about who was getting who protection wise. Luckily Mewelde Moore is there to pick up Jones. Ramon Foster handles a twisting Carlos Dunlap pretty well before handing him off to Kemoeatu while Flozell Adams handles the other twister in the form of Robert Geathers. Although Ndukwe gets the sack credit, Atkins had the key pressure so this sack allowed will hang on the wall of Scott with his others this year.

On the second sack the Bengals rush just 4. Robert Geathers gets his hands into Flozell Adams and is starting to walk him back until Maurkice Pouncey arrives to help save the day. Pouncey started by looking to help left. Michael Johnson gets his hands inside Jonathan Scott and easily walks him back into the pocket for the sack. Ramon Foster starts with Robert Geathers and hands him off to Chris Kemoeatu. He then gets Geno Atkins who Kemoeatu manhandled off the snap. This sack allowed credit goes to Scott as well and you could hand a quarter of it on Adams for deep pressure allowed, but we won\’t.

On the third sack the Bengals send 7 and the Steelers have slide protection to the left. The Bengals overloaded the gaps and Dhani Jones comes free between the A gap of Maurkice Pouncey and Chris Kemoeatu. Jonathan Scott has to take Michael Johnson who is rushing straight up outside. Chris Kemoeatu has to get Geno Atkins. Pouncey works right to help Ramon Foster with Robert Geathers, but it is a bad decision. Flozell Adams dances a step with Rey Maualuga and Matt Spaeth takes on Carlos Dunlap. Mewelde Moore has to choose between which guy he thinks is coming between Jones and Roy Williams and chooses the safety Williams. The blame of the sack could probable be split between Pouncey and Moore, but I think Pouncey was confused here. We really might never know.

The 4th sack sees Pat Sims get his hands inside of Ramon Foster and then get past him on the inside. The Bengals just rush 4 on the play and Flozell Adams has Robert Geathers under control while Maurkice Pouncey, Chris Kemoeatu and Jonathan Scott all tag team up on Domata Peko and Michael Johnson. Foster gets the clean credit here on a key 2nd and 7 play here inside the Bengals redzone.
