Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic address what they believe are the five biggest questions facing the Steelers this offseason on the Thursday Mike & Mike Show on ESPN Radio. A few softballs here but the question about if Rashard Mendenhall is the most underrated back in the league was a good question.

Steelers scout James Daniel was at the Pro Day of Portland State tight end Julius Thomas on Wednesday and Mississippi State tackle Derek Sherrod looked solid in his workout on Thursday. It is believed that the Steelers had a scout in attendance. Also Mike Tomlin was down at The U in Miami looking at cornerback Brandon Harris and lineman Orlando Franklin. The Steelers also had people at the Clemson Pro Day presumably to look long and hard at tackle Chris Hairston.

It is not a mock draft, but NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock has his top 32 players rated overall going into the weekend. Players 25-32 are here and players 17-24 are here. Players 1-16 will be released on Friday. Do not confuse this as a mock draft as he is merely ranking the players 1-32. Good stuff.

Tick, tock! NFL and NFLPA officials left Thursday\’s mediation session after nearly nine hours of talks and now there is just one day left before the collective bargaining agreement is scheduled to expire after the extension last week. The players union is set to decertify Friday if another extension is not agreed upon or a new labor deal is struck. Friday could be an explosive day. We shall see.

Part 2 of the 4 part special on Coach Tomlin and the free youth football camp he puts on in his hometown of Newport News, Virginia is up on Steelers.com.
