Steelers Six From Around The Web – Wednesday March 2nd – Merril Hoge Head Coach Edition

Steelers free safety Ryan Clark was on 93.7 The Fan to talk about a variety of issues surrounding the team and the NFL. He also comments on Ike Taylor wanting to stay in Pittsburgh and the announcement of Hines Ward going on Dancing with the Stars.

Former Steelers running back Merril Hoge was named by USA Football as the head coach of the 2011 U.S. Under-15 National Team in football. Congrats to Merril as he continues his lifes work.

The Ed Bouchette Steelers chat transcript is up from this week and he talks about Willie Colon, Flozell Adams, William Gay and Emmanuel Sanders among several other things.

Steelers defensive end Ziggy Hood is recovering from surgery to clean out bone spurs in his ankle according to reports. This is a pretty routine surgery and not surprising to see him rush to get it done prior to the forthcoming lockout.

Like I mentioned yesterday, Rich Eisen running the 40 at the NFL Combine has become a must see. Watch here as he makes his annual assault on the 40-yard dash and break his previous personal best. I laugh every year when they put his run up against others at the combine.

The semi-vintage link of the day goes back to June 3rd, 2006. In this article Bouchette wrote about 2006 6th round draft pick Marvin Philip and his Mormon missionary work.
