Episode #58 of The Terrible Podcast is up and in Part 1 David Todd and I open by discussing the canceling of the NFL rookie symposium which was to be held a month from now in Canton, Ohio. While most of these young guys have their heads on straight, this was a useful event. It is now another casualty of the lockout. We also see more fallout as employees of some teams are getting salaries slashed or being told to take mandatory furloughs. We discuss whether this is due to good business or just greed.
Gossip and opinion are ruling the day so we have at it on the Ray Lewis comments that if there is no football there will be more crime. Ray should know? We go over the new rule changes including the one that contact with the QBs helmet will now be a judgment call. Good or bad?
A couple Steelers were in the news as Ike Taylor was a guest on Jim Rome is Burning and Troy Polamalu spoke out about the labor situation. We lay it all out for you and parse their comments.
Of course we don\’t forget Hines Ward on Dancing with the Stars or the rookie kicker under contract hitting 70 yard field goals in practice. Listen for details.
In Part 2 we interview Steelers receiver Limas Sweed as he looks to bounce back from an Achilles injury as he heads into the final year of his contract. We ask Limas about his rehab, where he is working out, fellow Longhorn alumni Curtis Brown along with several other topics that get Limas laughing it up with us. Great stuff from Limas who looking to put it all together in his fourth season.
