Steelers Six From Around The Web – Thursday June 30th – Colon Wants Fair Deal Edition
Several teams might be possible suitors for free agent Willie Colon as he is looking for a fair deal according to Scott Brown. Although Colon would rather stay at tackle, he is not opposed to moving to guard if he returns. Colon, said. "We pull (left guard) Chris Kemoeatu so much that if I was to move to guard, I know I could add some balance. Colon's agent does not expect to hear from the Steelers about a new contract once the lockout ends.
Jason La Canfora and Elliot Harrison of NFL.com debate if Troy Polamalu or Ed Reed the best safety in the league. There of course is a reader poll you can vote in as well.
Pat Kirwan ranked the interior defensive linemen in the league after breaking them up into four distinct groups because of the schemes they play in and their responsibilities in that scheme. Casey Hampton makes his list in the 3-4 nose tackle group.
Former Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson is helping with preparing former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor for a possible Pro Day prior to the supplemental draft. Anderson was the Steelers quarterback coach from 2007–2009.
Ray Fittipaldo reported this morning that agents representing NFL players are now beginning to prepare to shop their players, suggesting that the lockout could be coming to an end soon.
