Cotchery Leaves Latrobe Monday Without A Contract

Free agent wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery visited with the Steelers once again this morning after arriving in Latrobe on Sunday and has left without a contract according to Ed Bouchette on Twitter. The Steelers are one of many teams that reportedly have interest in Cotchery following his release from the Jets last week.

The Steelers could possibly still be searching for a veteran type receiver to act as insurance just in case second year receiver Emmanuel Sanders is not ready for the week 1 game against the Ravens. Sanders was shut-down early in camp due to discomfort in his surgically repaired left foot. Sanders immediately had a procedure done after being shut-down to consisted of an injection of bone marrow and calcium to help speed up the process.

In related receiver news, Jason La Canfora reported via Twitter that the Steelers put in a waiver claim on receiver Dominique Edison after he was waived by the Seahawks. Edison ended up being awarded to the Cowboys, who also put a claim in on him.
