James Harrison Leaves Practice Wednesday With His Back Surgeon

Ed Bouchette and Scott Brown are both reporting via Twitter that Steelers linebacker James Harrison left the practice field today early and was seen walking off with his back surgeon, Joe Maroon. Harrison was seen laughing as he walked off with Maroon and speculation is that there is no problem. Brown thinks that perhaps it was a planned check up today on the surgically repaired back of Harrison. Harrison was not practicing today.

Harrison underwent two back procedures this offseason with the first coming on Feb. 21 to remove part of a herniated disk in his lower back that was causing him problems. The second procedure was performed on Mar. 2 to clean up the previous procedure. Harrison stated at the beginning of training camp that he would be easing back into practice and that he may step away from some of contact during the first part of camp.
