Report: Emmanuel Sanders To Return To Practice On Monday

Gerry Dulac is reporting this morning via Twitter that second-year wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is scheduled to return to practice Monday. If indeed this is the case, it would be two weeks after he underwent a minor surgical procedure on his left foot to help speed up the healing of his surgery from this past offseason. The procedure that Sanders had preformed back on Aug.1 consisted of an injection of bone marrow and calcium into his foot. He spent a few days in a boot and on crutches, but has long since shed them.

The originally diagnosis was that Sanders would miss 3 weeks and it is unclear if the Steelers will hold him out until the 4th and final preseason game. Sanders is a key piece in the Steelers receiving core this year as he was expected to be the number 3 receiver and main back-up to veteran Hines Ward. Hopefully the Steelers do not rush Sanders back too soon and further set him back.
