Steelers Place T Colon On IR, Sign T Meredith

Well it did not take long for the Steelers to make a decision on injured right tackle Willie Colon today as he was placed on injured reserve this afternoon following his morning triceps surgery and free agent tackle Jamon Meredith was signed to the 53 man roster to take his place. Meredith, who is 6 foot 5, 312 lbs, played under Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler when both were with the Bills.

The Steelers also had worked out formers Seahawks tackle Ray Willis on Tuesday, but opted to sign Meredith instead. Meredith only has 4 career starts to his credit in the last 2 seasons after he started at right tackle, left tackle and left guard during his four-year college stint with the South Carolina.

Why does Kugler keep bringing in bums from the Bills? His last year there, they were one of the few teams with a line worse than ours…

why the hell we didn’t sign Max??? He is an immediate answer in oth sdes of tackle … I know he has not trained since … months but he couldn’t be worse than J Scott

I’d like to see Max, kemo pouncey hills(i know he didnt make the team) and Marcus Gilbert. Or give Ramon Foster a shot … he did a decent job last year

    Where’s Flo Adams???

    Cheers from Mexico

  • Ya seriously!!! It sounds like the other dude had way more starts and upside.

Meredith is on his FIFTH team in three years. Not a good sign.

Jamon Meredith just who had on the top of my list to come in and make a difference.

The skinny on Meredith is he suffers from “nice guy” syndrome, and his desire to play, and to play nasty is somewhat lacking. If Kugker can teach those things to him, then maybe he is a genius at offensive line coach……

Your missing the point we brought in a coach from buffalo… that says volume. I would rather have taken a coach from the college ranks then from the bills.
