Pouncey, Worilds & Mendenhall All Added To Thursday Injury Report

The Steelers reportedly suffered yet another injury to the offensive line today as center Maurkice Pouncey injured his elbow today during practice according to a tweet by Ed Bouchette. Bouchette reports that Pouncey did not want to talk about the injury and he will likely be added to the injury report today which will be out shortly.

Jim Wexell also reported on Twitter this afternoon that linebacker Jason Worilds aggravated his strained quad while in downfield coverage today in practice and he was limping, but hopeful. Worilds was hoping to get the start at right outside linebacker this week with James Harrison still sidelined.

Running back Rashard Mendenhall was also added to the injury report with a knee problem.

  • If Worilds can’t go on Sunday, is it time to consider his inability to stay healthy a big red flag of things to come? He has a great opportunity dangling right in front of him, and he’s unable to grab it, and run because he keeps getting hurt.

He was injury prone in college too.

Mendenhall can stay on the bench as far as I’m concerned. Sure, he had a big week. How many big weeks has the guy had as of late? Put the hard runners back in – guys who will hit the hole and drive it instead of dance, stammer, stall, and fall.

  • Worilds is breaking my heart. Is this guy Alonzo Jacskon/ Bruce Davis all over again? Even when he was healthy enough to play he looked like he had no clue what he was doing.
