The Terrible Podcast – Ravens Beat Writer John Eisenberg Episode

Steelers PodcastSeason 2, Episode 38 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I jump right into the show by going over the Mike Tomlin press conference from yesterday and talk about who we think is in and out this week. We both do not have have any reason to believe LaMarr Woodley, James Farrior or James Harrison will go Sunday night, but still hope that Jason Worilds decides this is the week he returns. We discuss the Steelers defense as it relates to the injuries and talk about the options that Tomlin threw out yesterday. I also break down why rookie Chris Carter should not be an option this week unless there are more in-game injuries.

David and I then mop up a few closing thoughts on the game against the Patriots and turn our attention to the Ravens. We both agree that Ike Taylor should be in charge of taking care of Anquan Boldin this week and wonder if the Ravens will use the same game plan as they did back in week 1. I talk about the 3rd down problems Joe Flacco has had this year and why it is important to stop Ray Rice on first down and get him in obvious passing situations.

After a few final comments and a Heinz Field rant by David we welcome back Ravens beat writer John Eisenberg from CSNBaltimore.com. John gives us an early look at the Ravens injury situation headed into this Sunday night game and tells us what has happened with the team since we last saw them in week 1. We ask about their two latest games against the Jaguars and the Cardinals and how the hurry-up offense was used last week to win the game. John thinks the team is trying to become more vertical instead of relying so heavily on the run and admits there has not been as much cut blocking used like was used against the Steelers. John says the Ravens are still searching for their identity on offense. We get several more answers from him about the upcoming game before wrapping it up. We thank John for his time and encourage our listeners to read his work online leading up to the game and make sure you follow him on Twitter at @CSNEisenberg.

David and I will be back on Friday with a full preview and prediction of the Steelers Ravens game.
