The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns Sunday at Cleveland Municipal Stadium as they look to close out the regular season at 12-4. Most of the inactives for this week are pretty easy to decipher with two players already ruled out on the Friday injury report and one listed as doubtful. The big question is who is the 7th inactive this week on the list? As I do every week, here is the prediction of the 7 game inactives for Sunday and a few notes on each of the players. The official inactive list of players will be announced 90 minutes before kickoff and I will have them posted on the Read more [...]
It is the final game of the 2011 regular season for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they look to beat the Cleveland Browns before they head into the playoffs. A Steelers win combined with a Baltimore Ravens loss or tie against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday would give them the AFC North title along with a first round bye. As I do every week, here are my 7 things to look for against the Browns as the Steelers look to finish the regular season at 12-4. Also included is my score prediction for the game. Healthy Hillis - Last week St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson ran for 103 yards on 24 carries Read more [...]
The Pittsburgh Steelers head into their Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns looking to get their 12th win of the season. With a little help from the Cincinnati Bengals, they could get a first round bye as well should they take care of the Browns. This is the final regular season game of 2011, so there are also a few milestones in reach for a few Steelers players in this upcoming. Let's have a look at a few obvious and not so obvious ones and the chances each player has at reaching them. Hines Ward - You would have to be hiding underneath a rock to not know that Ward needs just five receptions Read more [...]
Season 2, Episode 63 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I get right into the final injury report report of the week for the upcoming game this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Who is in, who is out? Who plays and for how long? We discuss it. We then move on to talk about the team awards announced on Thursday. Was Antonio Brown the right choice for team MVP? Do Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Wallace or Ike Taylor have a right to be slighted with the team vote? Who did Wallace vote for anyways? We hammer through all of that as well, plus have a few laughs in the process. In the second Read more [...]
I have tracked the TOX stat all season long as it relates to wins and losses every week in the NFL as I love the stat. Half of that stat revolves around explosive plays, plays of 20 yards or more, and the ability of teams in the NFL to not only create them on offense, but not allow them on defense. Many have criticized the Steelers run defense all year long, especially how it relates to allowing explosive runs this year. The defense allowed just 1 run last year of 20 yards or more and this year they have allowed 7. That might seem like a big deal, but it really isn't when you factor in that Read more [...]
The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up their final practice preparations on Friday for their final regular season Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns on the road in Cleveland. The final injury report of the week is out and it shows that guard Doug Legursky (shoulder) and running back Mewelde Moore (knee) have both been ruled out for the game as expected. Legursky suffered a shoulder strain last week against the St. Louis Rams, while Moore is still recovering from an MCL knee sprain suffered in the Monday night game against the San Francisco 49ers. Linebacker LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) is listed Read more [...]
With the abysmal record of the Cleveland Browns (4-11), many Steelers fans are giving the Steelers a pass, believing that it will be an easy win. When the Steelers met the Browns earlier in the season (week 14), they managed to hold on to pull off a 14-3 win. Ben Roethlisberger was injured, as was Colt McCoy. This Sunday, there is no guarantee of a win for the Steelers, although odds are in their favor. The road to the playoffs runs through Cleveland Stadium for the Steelers this week, but also through Paul Brown Stadium where the Cincinnati Bengals will be scratching and clawing at the Ravens Read more [...]

Bruce Arians and Dick LeBeau both talked to the media on Thursday and here is what they had to say during their Q & A's. Browns defensive coordinator Dick Jauron also talked to the media yesterday and discussed the possibly blitzing Ben Roethlisberger more and how tough it is covering the Steelers receivers. Steelers Rams Week 16 Offensive Line Breakdown Report

The week 16 offensive line breakdown report for the Pittsburgh Steelers win this past Saturday against the St. Louis Rams is now complete and overall it was a pretty solid performance as everyone scored 86% or higher. The Rams run defense was pretty poor and the Steelers unit was able to push them around on quite a few plays and even get second level blocks on their linebackers, including James Laurinaitis. The Bill Doraty Kia dealership in Medina, Ohio will give away cars if the Cleveland Browns shutout the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. On a related note, if the Steelers shutout the Browns it will be no big deal. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund will be distributing a grant to the Cleveland Heights Police Department that will go towards the purchase and training of a new canine, as well as a K-9 ballistic vest. Roethlisberger has provided this same grant in every visiting city that the Steelers have played in this season. The ESPN Read more [...]
The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field on Thursday as they continue to prepare the Cleveland Browns this Sunday on the road in Cleveland. The Steelers look to move to 12-4 on the season with a win in their final 2011 regular season game. The Thursday injury report is out now and it shows that guard Doug Legursky (shioulder), running back Mewelde Moore (knee) and safety Troy Polamalu (knee) all did not practice again today. Legursky and Moore were practically ruled out on Tuesday by head coach Mike Tomlin. The status of Polamalu is unknown right now and Friday will be a key day Read more [...]
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was voted the 2011 team MVP on Thursday and while there are some good arguments that can be made that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger or cornerback Ike Taylor should have won the award, Brown was every bit deserving just the same. Brown has 63 catches for 1,018 yards entering the final game of the regular season against the Cleveland Browns, but what is more amazing is that 26 of those 63 catches came on 3rd downs and 22 of those 26 3rd down catches resulted in a Steelers first down with another going for a touchdown. Brown has been targeted 39 Read more [...]

Antonio Brown Voted 2011 Steelers MVP

Pittsburgh Steelers second year wide receiver Antonio Brown was voted by his teammates the winner of the 2011 Steelers MVP Award. Brown became the franchise's single-season leader in all-purpose yards as he has complied 1,018 yards receiving, 664 on kickoff returns, 325 on punt returns and 41 rushing yards through the Steelers first 15 games. The record was previously held by running back Barry Foster, who compiled 2,034 yards in 1992. With his 1,018 yards receiving this season, Brown became the second Steelers receiver to go over 1,000 yards this season as Mike Wallace has 1,182 yards this Read more [...]
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced today that rookie right tackle Marcus Gilbert was voted the teams 2011 Rookie of the Year and inside linebacker James Farrior won the Chief Award for his cooperation with the local media. Gilbert was drafted by the Steelers in the second round this past April out of Florida and started 13 games at right tackle this season. Gilbert was thrust into action as a starter in week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks after starter Willie Colon was lost for the season in the opening game against the Baltimore Ravens with a torn right triceps. Center Maurkice Pouncey won the Read more [...]

Curtis Brown Has Surgery On Torn Knee Meniscus

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie cornerback Curtis Brown had surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in one of his knees and reportedly it was just a simple scope type procedure. Brown was placed on injured reserve prior to the Steelers game this past Saturday against the St. Louis Rams and rookie running back John Clay was signed off of the practice squad to take his place. Brown inured his knee in the Steelers week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns and he showed up the following week on the Steelers injury report. He was ruled out for the following Monday night game against the San Francisco Read more [...]
