Emmanuel Sanders Could Miss Steelers Final Two Regular Season Games

Scott Brown is reporting this afternoon via Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers second year wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders said that he doesn\’t know 100 percent if he is going to play Saturday against the St. Louis Rams because of his injured right foot. Sanders main goal right now is to be ready for the playoffs, according to Brown, and he said he doesn\’t want this injury to remain a lingering one.

Sanders broke his right foot in the loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl back in February and had it surgically repaired quickly. He then had another surgery on his left foot in the spring after a stress fracture was discovered in it. The left foot then needed another procedure done on it just after the Steelers reported to training camp and it forced him to miss the first 3 preseason games.

In addition to the injured feet, Sanders underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair his left knee meniscus back in November, but he returned for the Steelers games against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals following the Steelers bye week. The foot problem resurfaced again and he missed the last two games because of it.

Sanders has just 21 receptions this year for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns and the Steelers really could use him back healthy for the their playoff run. He was listed as being limited on Wednesday and the Steelers will likely take every precaution with him going forward. Do not look for him to play Saturday or in week 17 against the Cleveland Browns.
