Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said on Thursday that Charlie Batch would start at quarterback if Roethlisberger is unable to play Monday night and Trai Essex would get the start at left guard should Pouncey not be able to start at center.

The 49ers on thursday, linebacker Patrick Willis (hamstring) and left tackle Joe Staley (concussion) did not practice. Fullback Bruce Miller (knee) and wide reciver Braylon Edwards (knee) were limited in practice.

  • Why is it that Suh got the decision on his appeal BEFORE the next game, yet Harrison has to wait until the day AFTER the next game…what a bunch of BS.

The suspension was handed down on Tuesday. They have 2-3 days to answer the appeal.

What most people do not realize is plays in football are so quick that many things will happen that no one wants to happen.Roger Goodell has done NOTHING for the NFL.Not one damn thing.Pete Roselle did wonders for the NFL He gave us the League merger.(AFL-NFL).He gave us the SB.Paul Tagliabue gave us more teams and many new stadiums, additional officials and updated rules.Goodell is a damn Lawyer that’s doing what crooked ass lawyers DO.Approach everything from a LEGAL perspective.Helmet to hemet contact has been ever since the game first began. For those who don’t understand.Recall the MANY times you had to react in seconds to a fool on the highway? That IS a good similarity as you MUST react instataneously. The players KNOW the danger of the game and James Harrison is getting a bad rap becaue he had the back bone to speak his mind.Think about it for a suspended moment in time.”WHAT” has Goodell contributed to the NFL?Lastly–Often times Helmet to Helmet contact injures the tackler even MORE than it does the ball carrier.Ryan Clark was fined 40ks last season for Helmet to Helmet yet HE sustained the concussion that took him out of the game. That is GOING to happen ) H-H)good people because it IS the nature of a HIGH speed game. What SUH did was NOT a football procedure.
