Steelers Six From Around The Web – December 12th – The Life Of Curtis Brown Edition

Teresa Varley has a great piece up on steelers.com about Pittsburgh Steelers rookie cornerback Curtis Brown and the tough path he has traveled getting to the NFL. It really shows how Brown has overcome adversity throughout his life.

Varley also had a chance to talk with former Steelers draft pick and NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock prior to him calling the Thursday night game. Mayock was drafted in the 10th round of the 1981 draft and his father was also drafted by the Steelers in the 50\’s. Mayock talks about his brief time with the black and gold.

Ed Bouchette joined 93.7 The Fan to discuss the James Harrison situation and what he thinks could and should happen as far as a possibly suspension goes. Bouchette thinks the Steelers will know by Tuesday whether or not Harrison will be suspended. Gerry Dulac reported that agent Bill Parise does not think his client will be suspended.

Cleveland Browns beat writer Steve Doerschuk wrote about the team passing up both Steelers quarterbacks Terry Bradshaw and Ben Roethlisberger in drafts over the years.

Speaking of quarterbacks, we found out Saturday night that Raiders former first round draft Todd Marinovich turned down a call from the Steelers during his attempt to come back following his 1 year suspension many moons ago.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced this morning that Todd Haley has been relieved of his duties as head coach effective immediately. Color me unsurprised after his antics on Sunday.
