Steelers Six From Around The Web – December 29th – No Free Cars For Cleveland Edition

The Bill Doraty Kia dealership in Medina, Ohio will give away cars if the Cleveland Browns shutout the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. On a related note, if the Steelers shutout the Browns it will be no big deal.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund will be distributing a grant to the Cleveland Heights Police Department that will go towards the purchase and training of a new canine, as well as a K-9 ballistic vest. Roethlisberger has provided this same grant in every visiting city that the Steelers have played in this season.

The ESPN AFC North blog has a portion of the question-and-answer media session from Wednesday between head coach Mike Tomlin and Cleveland reporters. The reporters seemed to really be after James Harrison and Tomlin defended him. It is surprising that Tomlin did not hang up abruptly on them like he did with the Jacksonville media early this season.

Teresa Varley of Steelers.com sat down with offensive lineman Trai Essex for an interview in the latest edition of the Steelers Speak. I really do enjoy these candid interviews. In this interview Essex talks about his position flexibility this season.

Pat Kirwan wrote on NFL.com yesterday about how the odds are stacked against the rookie quarterbacks in the upcoming playoffs and how the Steelers haven\’t lost back-to-back games in two years.

Judging by the NFL week 17 coverage maps, I sure hope most of you Steelers fans outside the local area have Direct Tv or enjoy watching Tim Tebow.
