I am a football junkie and have been since about the age of 4 according to my parents. I am also a Pittsburgh Steelers fan that grew up in the deep south during the 1970's and 1980's as well and was always starved for any and all Steelers football that I could get my eyes on. The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost another member of their coaching staff to the Indianapolis Colts as it was announced today that Steelers offensive assistant Harold Goodwin was hired to be the Colts new offensive line coach. Goodwin will now join former Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians on the Chuck Pagano led staff. Goodwin just finished his fifth season with the Steelers as the team’s offensive assistant after spending three seasons (2004-06) as the assistant offensive line coach with the Chicago Bears. Steelers Sign Safety Myron Rolle To Futures Contract

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Florida State safety Myron Rolle to a futures contract according to his Twitter account. Rolle, a Rhodes Scholar, was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but was released prior to the start of the season and he landed on the practice squad. Last offseason Rolle joined former President Bill Clinton on a trip to the Congo to participate in a Clinton Global Initiative Lead program to aid displaced refugees. Jason La Canfora reported last night that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was looking into former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley as a possible candidate for the open offensive coordinator position and now we have confirmation from Bob Labriola that Tomlin interviewed Haley today at the team’s practice facility. Haley, the son of former Steelers Director of Player Personnel Dick Haley, was hired to be the Chiefs head coach in 2009 and was fired late this past season. We all remember the famous Coca-Cola commercial featuring Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Joe Greene begrudgingly receiving an icy cold bottle of Coke from a child fan and throwing the boy his jersey after he gulps it down. Well, 32 years later and Mean Joe Green will be back in another commercial that will air prior to the Super Bowl and it will be a knockoff of his famous Coke commercial that will promote the Downy Unstopables. The Pittsburgh Steelers have given permission to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to interview defensive assistant Jerry Olsavsky according to Steelers Digest. In addition to Olsavsky, the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears have been given permission to interview offensive assistant Harold Goodwin as well. Olsavsky joined the Steelers staff in January of 2010 to serve as the defensive assistant and replaced Lou Spanos. Fresh off of his first Pro Bowl appearance, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown called into 93.7 The Fan this morning from Hawaii to answer a few questions about his experience playing in the annual NFL All-Star game. Jason La Canfora is reporting tonight via Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has made inquiries into former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley and former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, presumably for the open offensive coordinator position with the Steelers. Both Haley and Van Pelt have links back to the Steelers organization as Haley is the son of Dick Haley, the Steelers former Director of Player Personnel and Van Pelt, a star college quarterback at the University of Pittsburgh, was drafted by the Steelers in the 8th round of the 1993 draft. Steelers LB Coach Keith Butler Staying With Steelers

Some great news to pass on tonight as Gerry Dulac reports via Twitter that Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler is staying with Steelers and will not be the new defensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts. Butler, who now appears to still be the heir apparent to Dick LeBeau, was tops on the list of Colts new head coach Chuck Pagano. Both Butler and Pagano had coached together on the staff of the Cleveland Browns years ago along with former Steelers and new Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer posted today on Twitter that he is in his last week of rehab, presumably for his broken left foot that he suffered late in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 13. The foot required surgery and Dwyer was placed on injured reserve in the early part of December as a result. When he finishes up his rehab he will be off to his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia for the offseason according to his Twitter feed. The Senior Bowl is now in the books and so kicks off the march towards the 2012 NFL draft. The next big event of course is the NFL combine that begins February 22nd and that is followed by the individual college pro days and pre draft visits. I purposely waited to release my first version of the 2012 Steelers mock draft so I could watch the Senior Bowl week coverage and game as to allow me to see several of players play and practice. AFC Beats NFC In Pro Bowl, 59-41

The Pittsburgh Steelers had five players in the 2012 Pro Bowl game Sunday in Hawaii and all 5 made contributions. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes Sunday to help lead the AFC to a 59-41 win over the NFC in the annual NFL All-Star game. In addition to the two touchdowns, Roethlisberger completed 6-of-11 passes for 181 yards as he started the game at quarterback for the AFC squad. Adam Schefter is reporting tonight that former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell plans to join the Baltimore Ravens staff this upcoming week, likely as the quarterbacks coach.
