We knew they were coming, but we just did not know when, but the Pittsburgh Steelers finally officially announced today the 10 future contract signings today that include 5 players from the 2011 practice squad. As I previously reported, offensive lineman John Malecki, tackle Trevis Turner, tight end Jamie McCoy and defensive end Corbin Bryant were signed to 3 year reserve/future contracts. The name that we did not have was offensive lineman Chris Scott, the Steelers 2010 5th round draft pick, as he too was signed to a to 3 year reserve/future contract.

The other 5 players that were made official today that we previously reported were quarterback Jerrod Johnson, defensive lineman Mike Blanc, defensive tackle Kade Weston, linebacker Marshall McFadden and defensive back Antonio Smith. All signed 3 year reserve/future contracts and they do not include any type of signing bonuses.

The contracts officially go into effect in March when the new 2012 league year starts.
