CBS Atlanta is reporting that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward pleaded guilty on Wednesday morning to a reckless driving charge in connection with DUI charge last offseason in Atlanta. Ward was arrested in the early morning hours of July 9 after a MARTA police officer saw him hit a curb and drive out of his lane on Buford Highway.

The report by Elizabeth Klynstra states that Ward pleaded guilty to reckless driving and pleaded no contest to his charge of failure to maintain a lane. Ward was sentenced to 12 months probation according to the report with one day already being credited. Ward was also fined $2,000 and the judge ordered him to perform 80 hours of community service. The DUI charge was dropped.

Ward had reportedly failed a series of field sobriety tests administered by a DeKalb County police officer who wrote in his arrest report that Ward had swayed back and forth and was getting agitated while conducting the evaluation.

ETA: Post corrected. The original linked article stated jail time & has since been corrected.
