All of this warm and fuzzy feelings we have over the recent work done by Pittsburgh Steelers salary cap guru Omar Khan is dampened a bit tonight as St. Louis Rams beat writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Jim Thomas tweets tonight that the Rams will interview Khan on Thursday for their general manager position. Thomas admits he thought that the Rams were done interviewing for the position.

The name of Khan has surfaced numerous times as a possible general manager candidate for other teams. Most recently his name was linked as a possible candidate for the Miami Dolphins late this past October by Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post. Khan also interviewed with Seattle Seahawks for their general manager vacancy back in January of 2010.

Khan has been the Steelers chief contract negotiator for the past 11 seasons.

Thanks to James Morgan for the heads up.
