Report: Jamon Meredith Signs With Buccaneers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have finally had one of their free agents sign with another team as tackle Jamon Meredith reportedly has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday according to tight end Weslye Saunders on Twitter. Meredith originally signed with the Steelers as a free agent after Willie Colon went down with a triceps injury against the Baltimore Ravens in week 1. Colon was placed on injured reserve to make room for Meredith on the 53 man roster.

Meredith dressed for just 4 games in 2012, but did not take a snap on the offensive line all season. He only saw very limited action on special teams. He was the only free agent that could have been restricted that the Steelers did not tender. Meredith had played under Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler when the two were with the Buffalo Bills and that was likely why he was the first call that the Steelers made when Colon went down.
