2012 Draft

Steelers Host WVU CB Keith Tandy & Alabama LB Jerrell Harris For Pre Draft Visits

The Pittsburgh Steelers had two more draft prospects in for pre draft visits on Monday as West Virginia cornerback Keith Tandy and Alabama linebacker Jerrell Harris were spotted at the Steelers facilities according to Scott Brown. Both Tandy and Harris did not get invited to the NFL combine in February.

Tandy measures in at 5101 and weighs 202 pounds. He ran an unofficial 4.43 40 yard dash at his Pro Day and put up a 35 inch vertical to go with a 10 foot broad jump. He played outside corner at WVU and is a solid run supporter. He is average in man to man and excels more in zone type coverages as he is quick breaking on the ball. Tandy is very athletic and a solid special teams contributor because of his tackling skills. The biggest knock on Tandy is his lack of elite size and his ability to play well consistently in man situations.

Harris measures in at 6024 and weighs 242 pounds. He played outside linebacker opposite Courtney Upshaw at Alabama in the 3-4 defense. He is not known as a strong pass rusher, but is able to hold the point of attack outside well against the run. He was originally an inside linebacker at Alabama before moving outside. He has shown ability to drop comfortably into zone coverages outside. Harris is a consistent tackler and a plus special teams player.
