Maurkice Pouncey Says He Is 100 Percent Now Following Offseason Ankle Surgery

The left ankle of Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey is now fully healed following off-season surgery to remove born spurs reports Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Pouncey has struggled with the ankle ever since he originally injured it in the 2010 AFC Championship game against the New York Jets. That initial injury forced him to sit out Super Bowl XLV against the Green Bay Packers as a result.

Pouncey returned last season to start the first 13 games for the Steelers but reinjured the ankle again in the first half of the week 14 game against the Cleveland Browns. The injury forced him to miss the next two games against the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams, but he returned for the season finale against the Browns and played every snap in the game.

Pouncey would once again reinjure the ankle once during the week of practice leading up to the AFC Wild Card game against the Denver Broncos, and it forced him to miss the game as a result. He had surgery in mid January and will hopefully will be a full go during the Steelers OTA sessions.
