Steelers Second OTA Session Of 2012 Gets Underway Tuesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers begin their second OTA session of the 2012 season on Tuesday and it will run for three days. Attendance, like all OTA sessions, is not mandatory, but the Steelers once again should get a pretty good turnout once again, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Rookies David DeCastro, Mike Adams and Alameda Ta\’amu are once again expected to missing because of school graduation rules. A few players that could possibly participate in the OTA session that were forced to sit with injuries last week are linebacker Jason Worilds and guard Ramon Foster. Worilds had wrap on his left hand last week and no report has surfaced as to what the nature of the injury is or how long it will keep him sidelined. Foster had a hamstring strain that is not considered serious. Also expected to just work on the side once again will be Rashard Mendenhall and Casey Hampton, as they continue to rehab from their knee surgeries. Mike Wallace is expected to miss the session once again as he has yet to sign his one-year tender offer.

While not much news is expected next week, offensive coordinator Todd Haley will continue with the installation of his new offense. The rookies that are able to attend will hopefully fill a little less overwhelmed and hopefully no serious injuries occur over the course of the three practices. The Steelers will have one more final OTA session, their third, the following week and that will be followed by the team mini-camp the week after.

Per usual, we will have the most complete coverage and daily wrap ups that you will find on the internet.
