Steelers Six From Around The Web – May 11th – Keisel Wants You To Buy A Kubota Tractor Edition

Retired Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward threw out the first pitch before the game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Washington Nationals on Thursday evening at PNC Park. Ward was a star baseball player in high school back in Georgia and was even drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 73rd round of the 1994 Major League Baseball draft. Thankfully Ward decided to not sign a contract and opted instead to go to the University of Georgia on a football scholarship. You can see video of the first pitch at the link above.

In news related to Ward, Mark Kaboly reported on Twitter Thursday that Antonio Brown has taken over the old corner locker that belonged to Ward for several years at the Steelers practice facility.

The Baltimore Ravens may have lost outside linebacker Terrell Suggs for the season after it was reported last week that he tore his Achilles and now the Cleveland Browns will likely be without defensive tackle Phil Taylor for the 2012 season after he injured his left pectoral on Thursday lifting weights.

Bob Labriola and Mike Prisuta look at some issues pertaining to Suggs\’ injury, and then delve into the Steelers\’ rookie orientation weekend in their latest segment of Agree to Disagree.

In a roster move that flew way under the radar, the Steelers apparently released undrafted kicker Grant Ressel on Monday after the first rookie camp this past weekend.

Brett Keisel wants you to buy a Kubota tractor from Murphy Family Inc. outside of Pittsburgh. You can see the commercial below courtesy of Youtube, and although we don\’t know when it was filmed, you can see that the beard is making its comeback for 2012. ETA: I should have looked at the date. It was from March 2011, not March 2012.

Brett is looking a little pounchy there….

Come to think of it, so is Ben, who looks a lot like he is living up to his billing “Big”.

I’m glad somebody else noticed that, about Ben that is! I know he’s been telling everyone that he’s working out by playing GOLF, but come on now! How is it that a professional football player is getting ready for a full season of contact by playing a senior sport? Just my thoughts? I guess we should just be happy he’s not in trouble

The Keisel Kubota commercial is from March 2011. Thanks for posting…nice look back!
