Season 2, Episode 108 of The Terrible Podcast is up and David Todd and I start by discussing what the hold up is in getting first round draft pick David DeCastro signed and wonder how long it will be until all first round draft picks get fully guaranteed contracts.
Philadelphia Eagles lineman Jason Peters re-injured his surgically repaired Achilles tendon when the device he was using to help him move around post-surgery fell apart. It is not funny, but I can\’t help but conjure up in my head how that happened and it ends up making me laugh. Imagine if something like this ever happened to Ben Roethlisberger. Oh the horror. Nobody died as David points out, so that is a good thing and hopefully Peters recovers fully by next season.
David and I move on to talk about the Steelers depth at the tight end position and wonder if this could be the thinnest position on the roster heading into training camp. Heath Miller is a stud for sure, but what would happen is he were to be lost to injury for a period of time? You can\’t be two deep at every position as David points out and remember that Weslye Saunders is suspended for the first four games of the season as well.
What do the coaches get most out of the offseason rookie and mini-camps and how important are they to the middle linebackers like Stevenson Sylvester and Sean Spence? We discuss.
Sadly we discuss the latest workout of Limas Sweed with the New York Giants this past weekend and agree that he better be ready to get on with the next chapter of his life pretty soon.
We will be back on Friday and hope to have an interview to include with either a current or former player as we have begun the dead time of year as we wait for training camp to arrive.
