Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Adds Former AP Writer Alan Robinson To Steelers Beat

If you listened to our podcast on Friday, you heard the news that Scott Brown is moving off of the Steelers beat for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review to cover Penn State and golf for the paper. On Monday it was announced that Alan Robinson will be replacing Brown on the Steelers beat according to columnist Dejan Kovacevic on Twitter.

The name of Robinson should ring a bell as he was the long time area writer for the Associated Press up until January of 2011. Robinson covered all of the area Pittsburgh teams for the AP for well over 25 years according to my research.

I have read the work of Robinson for many years and look forward to his coverage of the Steelers for the Trib now. At the same time, I am sad to see Brown leave the beat, as I consider him a good friend and loved reading his work as well. Best of luck to both in their new positions.

I am, I'm me. 40 something, retired and a life long Steelers fan.

    RE: Scott Brown

You may have liked him and thought he was the bees knees, but let me tell you, IMO he was dead wrong in his coverage of the Roethisberger Milliageville incident and never did print a retraction that I saw. He really owes Ben a public apology.

That really stinks for Scott Brown. He goes from covering NFL games all across the country and watching and having access to Steeler’s practices and behind the scenes to covering Penn State. Wow. If I was Brown I would tell them to go stick it at the Trib.

    Brown requested it.
