Steelers Six From Around The Web – June 15th – No Reduced Wallace Tender Edition

Today is June 15th and it will pass just like any other Friday for the Steelers, who have no intentions of lowering the tender of restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace.

The left ankle of Maurkice Pouncey is holding up real well following off-season surgery. The ankle has bothered Pouncey since the 2010 AFC Championship Game, but now the Florida product says it feels awesome.

Steelers veteran nose tackle Casey Hampton talked to the media recently and you can hear the full interview of him talking about his recovery and future playing plans.

Just because David DeCastro has been drafted, Willie Colon warns not to count out Ramon Foster.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is finally coming to the reality that his injured Achilles is likely going to keep him out a while, and he has backed off of his declaration of when he will return.

The Ravens are also dancing around the situation with safety Ed Reed, who didn’t show up for a mandatory minicamp this past week.

To bad they needed to send a message to Wallace……. And hopefully Reed reitres or makes them even more cap strapped…..

Wallace is playing it smart. He can see the Steeler’s situation at wde receiver is not good right now. Sanders can”t make it through a 3 day minicamp,Cotchery is at best a 3rd receiver and Brown has one good season under his belt. Wallace is banking on the Steelers seeing this and upping their offer.

Just curious, Is there a time period he has until he has to sign the tender or sit out? And I imagine that if he were to skip training camp he wouldn’t be fined because he hasn’t signed the tender right?

    Sanders got hurt?

  • RC

Personally, I think the Steelers would be prove to be fine without Wallace though they are undoubtedly better and more dangerous of a passing team with him. He is only hurting himself (learning the playbook and his image) and the team.

Ramon starting over DeCastro give me a break!! The only way that is happening is by a DeCastro injury!

I have changed my opinion of Mr Wallace,, if all he is interested in is money, then he is A typical, of todays money hungry athletes.,does he want to play football or just get all he can??
He couldnt hold Larry Fitz”s jock strap and certainly is no where near what he is worth, as far as im concerned they can let him go, Antonio Brown, at least up till now,h as shown to have more class, and had just a good of a year as wallace in 2011

I suppose that you work for less than your fair market value too, eh? There are lots of those people on the web.
