Steelers Executive Omar Khan Gets Promotion & Title Change

Not much to report just yet on the day that the Pittsburgh Steelers report to Latrobe for training camp. The real news will not start filtering in until later on in the day, closer to the 4:00 p.m. reporting deadline.

The only real thing to report thus far is that Omar Khan, the Steelers Business and Football Administration Coordinator, now has a promotion and a title change, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette on Twitter. Bouchette states that Khan now has a Director of Football & Business Administration title.

The main duties that Khan performs that are important to the fans is contract negotiations and he is regarded as one of the best in the league when it comes to navigating the salary cap.

Over the years Khan also has had his name thrown around as a General Manager candidate for a few teams, but has yet to leave.

Khan has been an executive with the Steelers and their chief contract negotiator since 2001, when Dan Ferens left to join the International Management Group in Cleveland. His first job in the NFL came with the New Orleans Saints, where he reportedly started as an intern. He is a graduate of Tulane University.
